SHANGHAI China, November 27 – Caterpillar Inc. launched three new SEM products at BAUMA 2018, including SEM680D Wheel Loader, SEM822D Tract Type Tractor and SEM918 Motor Grader. Qihua Chen, Vice President of Caterpillar; Hamid Lavassani, General Manager of SEM Global Sales and Distribution; Marcio Vieira, SEM Global Product Manager and Luo Wei, SEM China Sales and Distribution Manager attended the ceremony.
As a new member of SEM wheel loaders, SEM680D is designed to meet customer demands on bigger operating space and higher efficiency. SEM822D is a new generation of D series tractor. It is built with various configurations to deal with different conditions in forests, deserts, mines, etc. The new SEM918 motor grader is equipped with a sensing hydraulic system to simplify the operation and lower fuel consumptions.
On the ceremony, Mr. Qihua Chen said, “we look forward to continuously growing our business in China, by doing the work with our partners. And I do believe, SEM as a Caterpillar brand, will have significant growth to support our customers build a better world.” Hamid Lavassani noted “With the support of Caterpillar, SEM will continue to develop new products based on customer demands and deliver affordable, available and supported machines to customers”. The first SEM918 motor grader was delivered to a customer during the event. Qihua and Hamid handed over the key and machine model to the owner.
2018 SEM Operator Challenge Season II was held from October 19 to November 12. The campaign also successfully concluded at the trade show. The three operator champions, who respectively won the national competition of wheel loader, tractor and motor grader, were invited to the new products launch ceremony. They unveiled the three new SEM products together with Caterpillar leaders.
BAUMA China is held every two years. It is Asia’s largest and most renowned trade show in the construction machinery industry. Caterpillar displayed more than 30 state-of-the-art machines under the CAT and SEM brands at BAUMA China 2018.
