Job Purpose:

The position will have the primary purpose of supporting the Quality Management System within the assigned operational area, by providing expertise and advice on production or product problems fed back from both internal and external customers. To conduct investigations, analyses information and facilitate teams dealing with issues/projects associated with resolution of quality problems.

Job Responsibilities

• This multi-incumbent position is a Standard Job throughout the corporation that may function in a staff capacity in a particular phase of Quality Assurance responsibilities in assigned areas, including product test procedures and specifications, performing audits, improvements of products reliability and customer satisfaction through support of the NPI (New Product Introduction) program and resolution of metallurgical grief for steel/forgings at supplier or plant levels.

• The incumbent in this position develops plans and tools that are used for internal quality certification for both the implementation of MQ12005 and MQ13005. MQ12005 implementation will primarily align with CPS and realize the synergies of CPS during the implementation of MQ 12005. Implementation of MQ12005 will also align with the corporate requirements of the successful implementation of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) tools.

• To conduct investigations and analyses which contribute to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment that ensure quality standards for parts and prime products.

• To provide technical support for a commodity or commodity grouping of similar products by leading on quality development and certification of processes, cost reduction, production quality problems resolution, and warranty reduction.

• This position is required to work with all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through quality manner such as daily coaching, tracking CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) projects & Scorecard, providing quality support if any poor results or negative trends occur, developing IQC training programs, providing training courses of quality specifications to employees, conducting internal quality audits, facilitating management reviews, etc.

• Performs quality planning functions by developing strategies, plans and implementation of quality certification for product suppliers, warranties and rebuild procedures. Determines requirements & implementation of quality certifications.

• Manage highly technical major capital equipment design and installation projects.

• Inspects all phases of the project to ensure that quality, cost and equipment meets standards of the project. 

• Shows how the equipment should be placed and follows up on all phases of the project until it is satisfactorily functioning as planned. If equipment, method and processes are unique, it may be necessary to train factory personnel in equipment operations. Writes operating and test procedures for factory personnel to follow to control safety, quality and performance during operation.

• This position is required to implement the Idea Generation Process and Corrective and Preventive action processes by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons and spot check, explain the validation reasons, and encourage all employees to make contributions to achieve zero defect in operations.

• This position is required to be a coordinator between related teams when there are issues or roadblocks during implementing CQI projects and actions generated from the Idea Generation Process, and track its implementation progress.
